Description

The cockroach-style pattern has taken fish everywhere. Many anglers use nothing else only changing the size of the fly or the color. Tied keys style tied closer to the rear of the hook this tarpon fly continues to catch fish. Originated by Lefty Kreh was actually a variation of his famous all purpose saltwater pattern lefty’s deceiver. We are not sure what the Tarpon think it is but is works the grizzly hackles give it a shrimp like appearance while the profile and silhouette mimic a small forage bait fish. Tied in the traditional keys style with the bulk of material further back on the shank and west coast / Homosassa, Florida style further forward on the shank both create a large push of water caused by the robust hair color. The thick collar also doubles as a foul guard. We finish the fly with a pink and epoxy head with a traditional painted big eye. The flies are originally designed to be snelled and should not foul when cast. Also can be used with a loop knot. All flies are fine tuned for material selection and fly construction to produce a fly that will give the correct action in the water to induce a strike. All flies are made with ultra premium hooks All our flies are tied on Owner Aki or Gamakatsu hooks and materials. If you are fortunate enough to hook up with a trophy tarpon, you will not want to risk the fish on cheap flies and hooks. Get the good stuff, its worth it!
