The full collar of marabou enable you to have a slow retrieve in shallow water with more action and maximum wiggle during the retrieve. The rabbit tail undulates and the contrasting colors make this a very productive pattern. This fly is commonly used around the mangroves for smaller tarpon we tie this on a 1/0 with weed guard to avoid small blades of grass on the flats or obstructions around the mangroves For anglers that like a larger fly we also tie this in a 2/0 all rabbit flies are tied with an inline mono loop guard Early fly pioneer Bates favorite patterns had white tails and red collars.
